Heating Servicing

All gas appliances should be serviced at least once a year, to ensure your appliances are working safely and efficiently. This should also prolong the life of your appliances.

The Health and Safety Executive states that by law, landlords are generally responsible for making sure that gas fittings and flues are maintained in good order, and gas appliances are serviced and checked for safety once every 12 months. They must also keep a safety check record for at least two years and issue the latest certificate to existing tenants and any new tenants before they move in. If you own the appliance, you are responsible for its maintenance and safety checks.

Faulty gas appliances carry the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be fatal; 50 people die in the UK every year from carbon monoxide poisoning. Gas safety checks can prevent needless deaths.
